A file’s resolution is represented in different ways. One way to note it is by using Width and height. This actual size should not be confused with the file size. While a visually larger file is usually connected to a higher file size, the values can still differ.
The Width of a file should not be confused with the image width. While the image width refers to the pixel width of images and the visual representation of a video, the general Width information is given for any kind of file. Documents, images, videos, and even audio files can have a Width value.
In a document, the Width defines the horizontal amount of pixels of the pages. In an audio file, there is usually no visual data available. The exception are music files that contain a cover image. If this is the case, a value for Width can even be found in audio files.
